Furnish a fitting that is mechanically attached to the inside wall of a manhole structure that serves to overcome wastewater pipeline elevation differences between a manhole base channel and an elevated pipeline entering the structure at an elevation difference of 24 inches (600mm) or greater. *The fitting shall assist (the design engineer) in reducing H2S emissions, odor, wastewater inflow energy/turbulence in the manhole channel and subsequent erosion/corrosion of the concrete manhole structure.*May depend on installation practices used.
(B) POLYETHYLENE (PE) INSIDE DROP INLET FITTING:
1.0 The fitting shall be a one piece rotationally molded product with a removable threaded cap for pipeline inspection purposes and incorporating a curved mounting flange with gasket for attaching to the inside wall of a sewer manhole riser.
1.1 The fitting shall accept an incoming pipeline of up to and including 10 inches (250mm) nominal diameter. (Larger diameters may be acceptable – Please check with manufacturer). The spigot end of the fitting shall accept bell and gasket end of 6” or 8” PVC SDR26/SDR35 gravity sewer pipe and elbow as the vertical conduit inside the manhole structure to direct flow into a manhole base channel.
1.2 The inside half of the inspection cap may be removed to create a half dam. To prevent loss, the cap may be attached to the body with stainless steel chain.

1.0 The fitting shall be anchored to the inside face of the manhole wall using four 3/8 inch diameter wedge anchors or threaded rod/epoxy bonded anchors with large diameter washers positioned under the nuts. All attaching hardware shall be stainless steel.
1.1 The upper elevation pipe (“inlet”) shall be connected and sealed to the manhole with an appropriate boot type connector or elastomeric gasket. Maximum diameter of cored opening is 14.5 inches (370mm).
1.2 The bell end of the vertical pipe (“drop”) shall be connected to the fitting with an elbow on the bottom of the pipe to direct wastewater flow into a manhole base channel.
1.3 Concrete exposed in the cored opening of a lined manhole shall be sealed and such sealing device or means shall also be attached to the liner so as to prevent the degradation of the concrete matrix. (Please check with the manufacturer for additional information on methods and products to seal cored openings/lined manholes).
1.4 The vertical pipe shall be fixed to the manhole wall by means of adjustable stainless steel strapping.
1.5 Mechanical anchoring attachments through liner surfaces must be sealed with an approved elastomeric sealant (see approved source recommendations).
